I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Iowa State University in 1995 and my Masters in Social Work from Washington University in Saint Louis, Missouri in 1999. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker and have been doing therapy since 1999. I was in private practice in Sioux City for eight years prior to joining the Behavioral Science faculty at Siouxland Medical Education Foundation from 2007 to 2020.

I have returned to private practice to focus on my passion of working with clients who need mental health therapy. I have worked with a wide range of populations over the years in a variety of settings. I began working with children both in inpatient and outpatient settings. I eventually switched to working with adults in only outpatient settings. I believe in strengthening individuals and families so that our next generation can fulfill their purpose in life.
My primary focus is with adults who have anxiety, depression, trauma, life changes and grief. I am trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, EMDR and Psychodynamic Therapy. I currently do individual, marital, and family therapy. My role is to be the guide to help my clients through their healing journey. I believe we all have the healing potential in us and with the right guidance and encouragement we can reach our goals and gain peace and contentment. It is in our times of struggle that we need to lean on others and accept the help others can provide. Let me help you on your healing journey in life.
I am a mother of two girls and am married to a wonderful man. Life has brought us our own challenges and it is through these struggles that I have gained an understanding and respect for everyone and their healing journeys.
